In light of Joe Rogan revealing that he thinks he’s a comedian, it’s time to break down what the job of a comedian really is:

A comedian’s job is not to make you laugh. A comedian’s job is to hold a mirror up to society, and then let a bunch of people with bad opinions stand in front of that mirror so you can’t see society at all anymore. All you’ll see is the comedian’s annoying friends who are completely blocking your view of society.

A comedian’s job is not to be funny. A comedian’s job is to be in a car getting coffee with an even wealthier comedian.

A comedian’s job is not to be silly. A comedian’s job is to be serious. That’s why the Joker always says, “Why so serious?” The correct answer is, “Because I am a comedian.”
