On June 10th, 2018, after 14 years of interstellar communication, NASA stopped receiving messages from the Mars rover Opportunity.
Opportunity’s battery was low, the planet was dark, and temperatures were freezing. Eight months later, on February 13, 2019, NASA abandoned the rover altogether.
But that entire time, Opportunity continued to broadcast.
