I'm reading MARTYR! by Kevah Akbar right now and digging it. I'm listening to the audiobook, but I suspect the written form would work better (there's a lot of POV-switching and form shifts). I loved REJECTION by Tony Tulathimutte as well.
Martyr! is fantastic -- it's on the next reading list, didn't wanna cram it in here. Reads with the force of his poetry. I'd be curious about the audiobook. Gotta check out Rejection, considering how familiar I am with the general topic.
If you haven't read Tony T. I'd start with PRIVATE CITIZENS. Despite being almost a decade apart, and featuring all new characters, REJECTION feels oddly like a sequel. Both are sharply funny and well-paced.
Also, I too need to finagle an advance copy of CANNONBALL.
Welcome back.
Thanks for sharing Exile from Gaza.
Welcome back, Eli!
Glad to hear you're getting back in the saddle.
